THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC PLACED ALL CLUB ACTIVITIES IN LOCKDOWN.

Philip Edgecombe

Club members were sad to learn of the death of Philip Edgecombe who joined the club in March 1994.

Philip had been a doctor in the Manchester Road practice, and was chairman of the local committee of the British Heart Foundation for many years. As a club member he was very involved in the walking group and kept a comprehensive record of all the walks, even after he gave up walking himself. He played a major part in compiling and publishing “Favourite Family Walks Around Cheshire” a selection of 18 walks devised, mapped and described by club members.

He will be sadly missed by club members and in the community. There was a small private cremation on 10th June, but the family hope to arrange a service of thanksgiving at a later date.
