David Taylor, a retired farmer from Bosley, stepped in at the last minute when the speaker at the last meeting had to withdraw because of illness. Mr Taylor, whose talk was entitled “Winter Watch” had some years ago created a number of  fishing lakes on his land to run as a business in his retirement and his initiative was now proving a success.
The lakes and the woods have developed  and now provide  fly fishing opportunities while Mr Taylor’s  own hobby of wild life photography  has enabled him to open up his land to photographers and camera clubs  who can photograph the wild life from a number of hides.
Mr Taylor backed up his talk with a series of  professional like photographs of the wild life around his lakes in the winter months.
Tony Davies will be  the speaker at the next meeting on January 11  with his subject “The Knutsford Lads Who Did Not Come Back”.
