The club held its Annual General Meeting in February and elected a new committee and a new Chairman, Don Johnson, who will serve till February 2019. The meeting agreed to the committee recommendation that the membership fee would remain at £55 per year and that there would be no charge for members guests attending meetings.
The AGM was followed by a normal meeting with one of the members, David Howard, giving an excellent illustrated talk on his five years in Cyprus in charge of the civil engineering aspects of a new power station. After David left Cyprus the power station was virtually destroyed by a major munitions explosion at the adjacent Cyprus navy base. The video of the explosion itself and its effect on the power station was most impressive!
